The Annual Synod of the Gulf Atlantic Diocese will be held October 18-19 at St. Peter's Anglican Cathedral in Tallahassee, FL. The theme for this year's gathering is 1 Corinthians 9:22b-23:

"I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.
I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings."

Based on diocesan-wide assessment of our churches' flourishing, Synod will revolve around the topic of Evangelism. The laity and clergy from every church will work over the weekend through practical tools to bring home a plan to cultivate organic opportunities for evangelism in their communities. Evangelistic mission is an area that many of our churches have self-identified as an area in need of growth. These sessions will work directly on that opportunity and result in practical next steps.

Synod is more than a business session. It is a coming-together of the entire diocese to celebrate what God is doing among us, to reflect on our common mission, to be edified and equipped, and to be sent back out in fulfillment of our common call. The entire Diocese is invited--not just clergy and lay delegates. In addition, many of our new Networks will hold in-person gatherings. Click this list of networks and inquire with its facilitator if you are interested.

Ministry Display Table Application

Organizations are welcome to apply to host a ministry display table at Synod. It's a fantastic way to make new contacts and spread awareness for what the Lord is doing in your ministry. The ministries that host displays need to help our diocese move toward our 50 flourishing churches by 2028 vision.

Applicants should read this article detailing our definition of "flourishing" and share how your organization will help us move forward in that vision in their application. Contact our Ministry Display Coordinator, Chris McCarthy, with any questions ([email protected]).
